ABOUT

“If you want to stay out of trouble,
just do average dentistry..”

That’s what Dr. Jason Pang was told early on in his career, but he didn’t listen, and now he’s one of the most respected, innovative dentists in the country.

He’s also one of the most qualified laser dentists in the world, and teaches the techniques, and treatments now available to those willing to ‘get into trouble’ too.

It wasn’t a straight line to where he is today, though, Jason’s dad was a dentist but he didn’t follow in his footsteps to begin with.

First of all he completed a degree in Biomedical Science at the University of Technology, Sydney, and then his love of technology, combined with an entrepreneurial streak lead him to set up a business in the visualisation and Virtual Reality space.

After running it successfully for four years, however, Jason realised he was missing out on the interaction with people he really enjoyed, and decided to go back to University to become a dentist.

When qualified he worked as a dentist in the family business for five years, before eventually striking out on his own once again. Taking over an empty clinic he had to build his client base from scratch, but it also gave him the opportunity to do things his own way.

Drawn again to technology, Jason searched high and low for new ways to improve the care he provided to his patients. Finding painless ways of treating patients was just the start, and after Lumineers and Snap-on-Smile became part of his practice, Jason eventually discovered laser dentistry, and he hasn’t looked back since.

Laser dentistry allowed him to treat not only the teeth, but also all the soft tissue around the mouth, thereby expanding the range of services he could provide into general health care. He’d already been called ‘The Smile Architect’ and now he was known as an ‘Oral Healer’ too.

His search for new dental technology to help patients has been the driving force of his clinic, however his mastery of new treatments has resulted in an unexpected development,
he became a teacher.

Dr Jason Pang is now the principal Australian trainer for Fotona & Pioon lasers, presents at conferences all over the world, and as the chairman of the Australian division of the  Academy of Laser Dentistry, he helps research and inform fellow members of best practice laser treatments.

He was part the first cohort of Masters in Laser Dentistry graduates at the Laser & Health Academy (LA&HA) in Slovenia, then completed a MSc (Masters in Laser Dentistry) at Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore (UCSC) in Rome. He now teaches the postgraduate Masters courses at LA&HA, UCSC as well as the European Masters in Oral Laser Applications (EMDOLA.

If you’re a dentist looking to increase your training beyond general and cosmetic dentistry, you’ve come to the right place.
